What's Happening in September
We hope that everyone has had a wonderful summer. September is a busy and exciting month for us. Here's what's coming up:
Tomorrow, September 7, The Trade Winds-Latin America Business Forum, hosted by the U.S. Commercial Service, begins in Santiago, Chile. This year, U.S. economic development organizations (EDOs) will connect with business leaders, government officials, and global investors at the SelectUSA Business Forum. On September 13 and in conjunction with the U.S. Embassy in London, SelectUSA will hold a seminar in Birmingham for companies wanting to focus on expanding in the United States. Panelists will discuss how companies can move from an export to an investment strategy, determining when the time is right to make the move to the United States, and more. On September 16, SelectUSA will participate in “Doing Business in the USA Masterclass,” a half-day seminar hosted by Ernst and Young and presented by the Scottish North American Business Council (SNABC) and the Council of American States in Europe (CASE), in Glasgow, UK. The masterclass, geared toward UK businesses looking to enter the U.S. market, will bring business experts together to discuss site selection, federal and state-level resources available for investment, success stories, and more. On September 19, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. ET, SelectUSA will hold a briefing call for U.S. EDOs and service providers interested in participating in the Brazil Road Show that will take place on December 5-9, 2016 . SelectUSA's second Taiwan Road Show will take place on September 28-30 and is already filled to capacity. Participating U.S. EDOs will meet with representatives from Taiwan’s IT, semiconductor, and renewable energy industries, and promote their locations to Taiwan companies.
