#SelectUSASummit: Looking Back at Yesterday, Looking Forward to Today

The 2016 SelectUSA Investment Summit was off to a roaring start yesterday. In addition to the keynote address by President Barack Obama, participants heard from Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker, Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, Secretary of Labor Thomas Perez, and Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx, along with senior executives from all over the world. Most importantly, the Exhibition Hall and meeting rooms were packed!

Today, the final day of the Summit, attendees will hear from several more high-level government, business, and industry leaders. Secretary of the Treasury Jack Lew opened the Summit this morning, and we'll be joined by Ambassador Michael Froman, the U.S. Trade Representative, Congressman Steny Hoyer, and Secretary of State John Kerry to close the Summit this afternoon. The full Summit agenda can be found here.

President Barack Obama delivers the keynote address at the 2016 SelectUSA Investment Summit.

"[No] other country is home to more foreign direct investment than the United States of America. Over the last four years, no other country has been named by CEOs around the world more frequently as the best place to invest with confidence. And all of this is for a very good reason: In large part because the decisions we’ve made since the financial crisis to build our economy on a new foundation for the future, there is no country on Earth that’s better positioned for the long run than the United States."

- President Barack Obama, July 20, 2016
