Grant Johnson Joins U.S. Commercial Service / North Dakota
Grant Johnson has joined the U.S. Commercial Service office in Fargo, North Dakota. Grant grew up in Bemidji, Minnesota, and is studying management at North Dakota State University. Grant joins the U.S. Commercial Service as an intern in partnership with the North Dakota District Export Council with sponsorship from the North Dakota Trade Office Export Assistant Program.

Rocket Scientists at Ideal Aerosmith Take Aim, Fire and Hit the Export Mark
Ideal Aerosmith, Inc. manufactures precision inertial guidance test systems, rotational rate tables and centrifuges, and high dynamic flight test tables. Based in Grand Forks, their systems are used in missiles, aircraft, launch vehicles, UAVs and automobiles. The company has utilized the U.S. Commercial Service in every facet of their international business. Click here to learn more.

FunShine Express Targets Canada after ExporTech
FunShine Express of Dickinson, ND is readying themselves for expansion into Canada. After attending and completing ExporTech, a national export training program that takes place in North Dakota with collaboration from the U.S. Commercial Service, the North Dakota Trade Office and Impact Dakota. North Dakota Oil Reaches Europe
Oil that originated near Tioga, North Dakota recently was exported to the Netherlands. This is the state's first export of oil since Congress has lifted the export ban on crude oil in December 2015. The original law was put in place to respond to the energy crisis in the 1970s. To read more about the story, click here.

U.S. Trade Representative Meets with Cramer on TPP Agreement
United States Trade Representative Michael Froman and Congressman Kevin Cramer met and discussed the Trans-Pacific Partnership Trade Agreement (TPP) in early April. During the meeting Cramer and Froman focused on how TPP would impact North Dakota. Cramer recognized the impact international trade already has on the state by mentioning that 100,000 jobs in the state are created through exports and that between 2004 and 2014, exports grew by over $4 billion. Cramer is still undecided on whether or not to support the trade agreement.

Japan Educational Expo Fair --FREE Event

The Embassy of the United States of America in Tokyo is hosting the EducationUSA EXPO 2016 in cooperation with the Japan Network for International Education (JAFSA), EducationUSA, Japan-U.S. Educational Commission (Fulbright Japan), U.S. College Alumni Network of Japan (USCANJ), KagakushaNet and Eiken Foundation of Japan. There is no fee to participate in this public event, and we welcome admissions officers, alumni, and current students to represent their institutions. EducationUSA EXPO 2016 will feature a college fair and information seminars. The fair will have booths for university representatives and other organizations supporting study in the United States to engage with event participants and to share materials. The information seminars will cover a variety of topics, including how to choose a school, the application process, financing an education, and career opportunities after graduation.
