Learn About the New FDI Numbers

When: March 23, at 12:00 p.m. EST / 9:00 a.m. PST. The briefing will be 60 minutes, including Q&A.

What: Economists Amanda Budny of the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) and Elizabeth Schaefer of SelectUSA will present on the latest FDI numbers, including:

• UNCTAD's recent Global Investment Trends Monitor Report on global flows (What does $384 billion mean?)
• The International Trade Administration's report on the impact of FDI on U.S. employment, which found that 12 million jobs, or 8.5 percent of the entire U.S. labor force, were attributable to FDI (How does FDI create those jobs?)
• BEA's highly anticipated release of more detailed data on FDI in the United States, including statistics on both greenfield and acquisitions. (How can you make sense of that?)

Who: The call will likely be most useful for U.S. economic development organizations, but we welcome others who are interested.
