The one-on-one meetings are a complimentary service offered to U.S. companies by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s U.S. Commercial Service. U.S. Biotech and Life Science companies currently exporting or planning to export their products or services are encouraged to take advantage of this program to learn about market opportunities and regulatory issues in overseas markets. Our country experts will work with you to assess the market potential of your products or services in your prospective international markets, establish an effective market entry strategy, and help you find pre-screened local partners.
Meetings are available with Industry Specialists from Brazil, Canada, Chile, China (Guangzhou & Shenyang), Denmark, Hong Kong, India, Japan and Spain. Philippines Infrastructure Webinar
The Philippine Government is planning to spend five percent of its GDP on infrastructure in 2016 and is rolling out projects ranging from railroads, ports, airports, and roads to schools, hospitals, and a major prison facility. eHealth Week & World of Health IT 2015
eHealth Week is comprised of two main events: the High Level
eHealth Conference and the World of Health IT Conference & Exhibition.
There will also be multiple parallel events occurring at the same time. Over
2000 international delegates and 75 exhibitors are expected from public and
private healthcare sectors. US companies of less than 500 employees may
also wish to participate in the US pavilion at a discounted rate. Do not
miss the EU-US eHealth MoU Roadmap Track by DG CONNECT and the U.S. Department
of Health and Human Services on the last day of the conference. The U.S.
Embassy will also host an invitation-only reception.

Japan BIOtech 2015 (International Biotechnology
Exhibition & Conference)
Organized by Reed Exhibitions, Bio tech 2015 covers basic
biotech research technologies from technological seeds to supplies, devices,
and contract services used in genomics, proteomics, cell research, drug
research, regenerative medicine research, etc. Also co-held with two
sister events such as PMEX 2015 (Personalized Medicine & Diagnostics
Exhibition & Conference) and PHARCON Japan (International Pharmaceutical

Webinar: New COFEPRIS Programs Expedite Approval of U.S.
Medical Devices in Mexico
Join us to learn more about how Mexico’s Federal Commission
for Protection Against Sanitation Risks (COFEPRIS) has implemented new programs
to expedite the approval of U.S. Medical Devices in Mexico. COFEPRIS is
Mexico’s equivalent of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. COFEPRIS
Commissioner Mtro. Mikel Arriola, will speak about these new programs and how
they can benefit U.S. medical device manufacturers through faster access to the
Mexican market. A speaker from the Mexican Association of Innovative Medical
Device Industries (AMID) will also offer insight on how they promote regulatory
and procurement processes in Mexico that are efficient and transparent, to
ensure safety, quality and effectiveness of solutions in health care services.
An introduction will also be provided by the U.S. Commercial Service Mexico.

2nd Annual Health IT Trade Mission to Brazil
The US Commercial Service at the US Consulate in Sao Paulo
Brazil is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Health IT Trade Mission
to Brazil August 17-21. This high impact business focused mission will enable
U.S. companies to showcase their technology to senior-level public and
private health care officials and potential partners; learn first-hand about
Brazil’s emerging health IT market, policies and business opportunities; and
contribute to the shaping of a big emerging health IT
market. The program will include exclusive round tables
with senior-level hospital officials, business social networking events,
technology forum presentations, hospital site visits and participation in
MedInfo, The World Health and Biomedical Informatics Conference.
Trade Winds-Africa Trade Mission
The 2015 Trade Winds program includes an Africa focused business
forum, in South Africa, consisting of regional and industry specific conference
sessions as well as pre-arranged consultations with U.S. Foreign Commercial
Service Officers representing commercial markets from 19 different countries
throughout the region. There will also be multiple trade mission stops that
will give participants the opportunity to conduct business-to-business meetings
with firms in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Mozambique, Angola, Ghana, South Africa,

The Saudi health care sector remains the largest in the Near East North Africa region. Total spending on health care is estimated at $20 billion per year, with the Ministry of Health accounting for about 60 percent, other government entities at 19 percent and the private sector representing the balance. Medical devices expenditures represented 15 percent and pharmaceuticals at 25 percent.
The 2014 budget allocated to the health care sector increased 8 percent, from $15.18 billion in 2013 to $16.5 billion in 2014. The budget included the construction of new primary care centers, 11 new hospitals, two medical cities and about 20 medical centers and polyclinics. In 2013, the Ministry completed the construction of 16 new hospitals with a capacity of more than 3,700 beds.
