Subject:  Filing Information Returns Electronically (FIRE) Login and Trading Partner Test System

Attention: Filing Information Returns Electronically (FIRE) Users

Beginning September 15, 2021, the FIRE System Production Login will require additional information. The current login requires your FIRE Account User ID and Password. Beginning September 15, 2021, you will be required to enter your Transmitter Control Code (TCC), EIN and legal business name as it exists in the FIRE System. The spelling, and abbreviations used to login will require an exact match with the information in the FIRE System.

The information used at login will now pre-populate for you during the file submission process, you will no longer have to enter the information above for each submission.

Before September 15,  2021, we recommend you take the following actions to ensure you have the correct spelling on the business name:

• Login to the Production FIRE System
• Go to Main Menu
• Select Send Information Returns
• Follow prompts
• Print and Save a copy of the Send Information Return screen

You can also contact the Responsible Official who submitted Form 4419, Application for TCC to File Information Returns Electronically (FIRE), for the business, and request they provide the exact business legal name that was used on the application.

To further assist with this transition, the FIRE Trading Partner Test System has been updated to reflect the changes discussed above. You are encouraged to try out the new login and test your transmissions.
