  1.  2019 Calendar Year Projections for the United States and IRS Campuses: 2019–2026 (Publication 6186) Update

The 2019 Calendar Year Projections for the United States and IRS Campuses (Publication 6186) is now available on SOI's Tax Stats Web page. This publication presents the number of tax returns to be filed with the IRS for Calendar Years 2019 through 2026. The publication contains detailed projections by approximately 50 different individual, business, and tax-exempt return types, including form types (Forms 1040, 1120, 941, and 990); filing mediums (paper versus electronic), and IRS Processing Campus locations.

  2.  Notice of Data Revision

Table 1A in the 2019 edition of Publication 6187 (Calendar Year Projections of Individual Returns by Major Processing Categories) has been updated to reflect that taxpayers can either itemize or take the standard deduction using Form 1040-SR. This update includes both the paper and electronically filed forms. The publication incorrectly stated that taxpayers could only take the standard deduction. Both Table 1A and the narrative were corrected to properly reflect these modifications.
