Issue Number:    RR-2018-11

Inside This Issue

Revenue Ruling 2018-11 provides the 2018 §1274A inflation-adjusted numbers for cash method debt instruments and qualified debt instruments.  For taxable years beginning after December 31, 2017, section 11002(d)(10) of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (the Act) amended §1274A(d)(2) to change the index used to calculate the inflation adjustments (from CPI to the C-CPI-U) and to change the 12-month period used for the calculation (from a September ending date to an August ending date).  The revenue ruling describes the amendments to §1274A(d)(2) by section 11002(d)(10) of the Act and provides the inflation-adjusted numbers for 2018 based on the new calculation.

Revenue Ruling 2018-11 will be in IRB 2018-18, dated 04/30/2018.
