Help get the word out to your clients on important issues ahead of the upcoming filing season. The Get Ready campaign focuses on helping taxpayers understand important tax law changes that may affect their tax returns and the timing of refunds.

2. Tax Pros: Earn Credit for Qualified Data Security Courses
Tax professionals can now earn continuing education (CE) credit for programs on data security and identity theft topics. Courses that can qualify for CE credit in the federal tax law category include those focused on enhancing awareness of client data protection and reviews of Publications 4556 or 4524 safeguards. Previously, IRS-recognized CE programs only included courses on federal tax preparation, federal tax updates, ethics, and representation topics.

3. Nov. 16 Webinar: Understanding the Annual Filing Season and Enrolled Agent Programs
This 75-minute web conference will cover the Enrolled Agent credential, the Annual Filing Season Program, changes to limited practice rights and the Directory of Federal Tax Return Preparers with Credentials and Select Qualifications. A live question and answer session is included in the program.
Two sessions are being offered. Register to attend at either Nov. 16, 11:00 a.m. ET or Nov. 16, 2:00 p.m. ET.
