  1.  Now Available: Public List of Certified Professional Employer Organizations

The Internal Revenue Service has published a list of organizations certified as professional employer organizations (CPEO) on a new IRS.gov CPEO Public Listings Page.

To become and remain certified under the new program, CPEOs must meet tax compliance, background, experience, business location, financial reporting, bonding, and other requirements.

An organization is a CPEO as of the effective date of its certification and remains a CPEO until the IRS revokes its certification or, if earlier, until the CPEO voluntarily terminates its certification.

Voluntary Certification Program for Professional Employer Organizations has more information on CPEOs.
