Subject:  How to Access e-services to Verify your e-file Activity

You must have an IRS e-services account to access your IRS e-file application.

When you apply for an e-services account, you will need to:

  • Enter required information
  • Create a username, a password and a PIN and provide an answer to a reminder question for your username;
  • Return to e-services to confirm your registration within 28 days of receiving your confirmation code in the mail.

The verification and approval process for creating an account with IRS e-services can take several days, so plan accordingly.

Note: If you previously registered for e-services, forgotten your password and need to reset it, visit Registration Services on IRS.gov.

You can verify information on your IRS e file application under your Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN), such as confirming the returns transmitted on your EFIN Status Page.
