UPCS-V NEWSLETTER | ISSUE 10 | March 2019

Thank You!

As we continue our work on UPCS-V in the 2019 Fiscal Year, we would like to thank all of our stakeholders and participants for their continued support in the Demonstration. Over the holidays, and even through the government shutdown, participants were able to complete over 3,500 inspections between December and January! Your work is truly a testament of your dedication and mission to UPCS-V! Together, we look forward to our continued progress towards implementing UPCS-V and improving the conditions of HCV units across the nation.

Analyzing UPCS-V Data

Common Defects - Bedroom

ISDV has been developing and exploring data analytic tools that we hope to share with PHAs in the future! During the Demonstration, and with the help of our participating PHAs, we have already been able to collect data for over 28,000 inspections across the nation. Further, ISDV has already begun to analyze and see defect trends across housing regions. For example, did you know that the most common UPCS-V defect in a unit bedroom is related to smoke detectors? We hope with this kind of information that we can provide to PHAs in the future, it will help them make informed decisions on their HCV program!

UPCS-V Remote Verification Feature

In Beta Testing: Video Capture Capability

Inspectors will have the ability to record up to 15 seconds of video per defect identified during a UPCS-V inspection! This new feature is in beta testing and is currently only available to select PHAs. Expect more updates on the APP's video capturing capability soon!

Message from our VEDGA team

VEDGA concept inspection tool

ISDV has been busy developing the future infrastructure UPCS-V will need to handle the thousands of voucher submissions HUD will receive once UPCS-V reaches full implementation. Our software team has been successful in building a proof of concept inspection tool that will mimic inspection submissions. Further, they are preparing to release this inspection tool to a small test population in the coming months! Once this testing phase is complete, we will then open the submission webservice to vendors.

Upcoming Events

Due to the government shutdown that lasted through January, ISDV has decided to postpone the upcoming Quarterly Conference Call and UPCS-V IT Summit. We anticipate that the next update will be provided in the 2nd quarter of this year.
