Announcement: FY 2014 Service Area Competition (SAC) Funding Opportunity
HRSA sent this bulletin at 06/13/2013 04:32 PM EDTThe Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) is pleased to announce the release of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2014 Service Area Competition (SAC) New, Competing Continuation, and Supplemental grant competition (HRSA-14-021, HRSA-14-022, HRSA-14-023, HRSA-14-024, HRSA-14-025, HRSA-14-026, HRSA-14-027, HRSA-14-028). The SAC funding opportunity announcement (FOA) is available at http://www.grants.gov.
HRSA administers the Health Center Program, as authorized by section 330 of the Public Health Service (PHS) Act, 42 U.S.C. 254b, as amended. The Health Center Program improves the health of the Nation’s underserved communities and vulnerable populations by assuring access to comprehensive, culturally-competent, quality primary health care services.
Organizations eligible to compete for SAC funding include public or nonprofit entities, such as tribal, faith-based, and community-based organizations. The SAC FOA details eligibility requirements, review criteria, and awarding factors for organizations seeking support to provide primary health care services in the available services areas. The list of available service areas, slide presentation for the technical assistance call, and other application technical assistance resources can be found at http://www.hrsa.gov/grants/apply/assistance/sac.
The application process consists of two phases: Phase 1—Grants.gov and Phase 2—HRSA Electronic Handbook (EHB). Please see Table 6 of the SAC FOA for a complete listing of application deadlines.
Note: This is a competitive funding opportunity, therefore, no EHB notification will be sent out. Applicants must download the appropriate application from http://www.grants.gov based on the announcement number under which the desired service area is listed.
