National Rural Health Day

Join HRSA for a dynamic series of events to celebrate National Rural Health Day (Thursday, November 21). Events begin as soon as THIS Thursday, November 14. Visit HRSA’s National Rural Health Day Agenda webpage for a full events schedule and take part in discussions with rural researchers, federal and community leaders, and health professionals dedicated to making a difference for rural mothers and families.

This year’s theme is “Advancing Maternal Health in Rural Communities.” HRSA will highlight the work of federal agencies, rural health care providers, and state and community-based organizations who are enhancing maternal health services through workforce training, hospital technical assistance (TA), telehealth initiatives, and flexible and innovative care coordination.

HHS invites your feedback on strategic plans to serve as national roadmaps to guide efforts to address HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections (STI), vaccines, and viral hepatitis. They will hold listening sessions to gather input:

Fiscal year 2025 Service Area Competition (SAC) applications for June 1 starts (HRSA-25-017) are due in HRSA’s Electronic Handbooks (EHBs) by 5:00 p.m. ET on Monday, December 2. TA materials are available on the SAC TA webpage.

2023 UDS Data Now Available in the GeoCare Navigator

Health Center Program GeoCare Navigator

We recently added 2023 UDS data to the Health Center Program GeoCare Navigator. If you don’t see the updated data, you may need to clear your cache. Here is how to do that: instructions for Google Chrome and instructions for Microsoft Edge. Make sure to select “All Time” as the time period.

If you have questions regarding the GeoCare Navigator, submit them via the BPHC Contact Form (Health Center Data and Research > HCP GeoCare Navigator).

Improving Depression Care for LGBTQIA+ Older Adults at Health Centers

Join the National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center and the National Center for Equitable Care for Elders (NCECE) for a webinar that will focus on addressing depression in older LGBTQIA+ adults through culturally-responsive integrated health care. You will consider strategies for promoting a supportive environment and providing tailored services and mental health treatment for LGBTQIA+ patients as they age.

HRSA Graduate Psychology Education Program

HRSA’s Graduate Psychology Education Program trains doctoral health service psychology students, interns, and postdoctoral residents in integrated, interdisciplinary behavioral health. The program also supports faculty development in health service psychology. HRSA will award approximately $22.8 million to up to 50 grantees over a period of three years through this funding opportunity. SAMHSA Report on Substance Use and Mental Health Services

SAMHSA has released the National Substance Use and Mental Health Services Survey 2023: Data on Substance Use and Mental Health Treatment Facilities. The report provides findings on key operational characteristics of substance use disorder and mental health treatment facilities, including use of pharmacotherapies, language assistance provided, and suicide prevention services. Long-Acting Injectable PrEP for LGBTQIA+ Communities: Implementation in Health Centers

Join the National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center and Community Health Center, Inc. to hear about the benefits and practical implementation of long-acting injectable PrEP in health centers. Speakers will explore candidate eligibility and assessment, administration of long-acting injectable PrEP, and common challenges in prescribing and integrating long-acting injectable PrEP.
