Biden-Harris Administration Invests $105 Million in Community-Based Organizations to Improve Maternal and Infant Health Across the Country

On Monday, April 29, HRSA announced $105 million in funding to support more than 100 community-based organizations working to improve maternal and infant health. HRSA Administrator Carole Johnson highlighted the news during a visit to Southside Medical Center, a new Healthy Start awardee, in Atlanta, Georgia. Georgia is the second stop on HRSA’s national Enhancing Maternal Health Initiative tour. The Healthy Start funding announcement will support the health care and social needs of moms and babies in high need communities to help improve community health and tackle the unacceptable disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes.

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program Cooling Season Toolkit

The Administration for Children and Families Office of Community Services released a Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Cooling Season toolkit.

This toolkit provides a variety of outreach materials (flyers, animated videos, and social media posts) that can be used by service providers, clinicians, and other partners to reach households who may need LIHEAP assistance to pay their cooling bills.

During the Biden-Harris Administration, more than $18.2 billion in funding was released. The toolkit has materials available in Spanish, Mandarin, and several other languages. 


HRSA Holds Grantee Webinar for Mental Health Awareness Month

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, HRSA is partnering with SAMHSA to host a webinar discussing SAMHSA’s Moving Beyond Change Efforts Report.

The webinar will focus on effective and ineffective strategies when working with youth from diverse sexual orientations and gender identities.
