Checklist

ECV Project Period End Date and Next Steps

HRSA’s Expanding COVID-19 Vaccination (ECV) award ended on December 31, 2023, unless you received a project period extension.

If your health center did not, or will not, receive a project period extension:

  • The ECV final report will be available in HRSA’s Electronic Handbooks (EHBs) beginning this Friday, March 1.
  • The ECV final report is due to HRSA by Saturday, March 30.
  • We will soon share technical assistance (TA) resources on the ECV TA webpage to help you understand what is expected in this report.

Reminder: Health centers have 90 days to draw down funds for any expenditures obligated prior to the project period end date. If your health center needs more time to complete approved ECV award activities, contact your Grants Management Specialist or Investment Oversight Advisor as soon as possible to request a project period extension.

Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month Kicks Off Friday

This observance, celebrated annually in March, encourages discussions related to screening for colorectal cancer. We all know that screening is key for reducing the prevalence and severity of disease. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends screening for 45- to 75-year-olds. People at an increased risk should talk to their doctor about when and how to get screened.

Plan to join our webinar where you will learn from health centers that received Accelerating Cancer Screening funding. They’ll share their innovative approaches to increasing colorectal cancer screening.

Participate in the National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey

CDC is fielding the National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NAMCS) from this Friday through the end of the year. If your health center was invited to participate, we encourage you to do so. The NAMCS Health Center Component website includes a “What to Expect” section if your health center was selected.

NAMCS results are a resource to the health center community, researchers, and policymakers. They highlight the important work and needs of health centers and inform actions to address emerging public health needs. The survey provides detailed insight into ambulatory care at the level of individual visits — complementing the aggregate, health center-level information from the Uniform Data System. NAMCS data is confidential, and its use is limited, with public data aggregated for confidentiality.

If your health center received an invitation, contact CDC by email or phone (800-307-0134 or 301-458-4050) to confirm participation and continue to respond to emails and phone calls for further instructions. Participants may be eligible for compensation of up to $10,000 to help defray related expenses.
