Lori Butler-Harris Public Health Analyst OHCPM Health Center Engagement
“I am so very fortunate to have worked for not one, but two public health agencies (HRSA and CDC) throughout my 30-year federal career! I truly have enjoyed my 22 years at HRSA working in various programs. I have worked in BPHC since 2004 and in the Health Center Program for the last 16 years. I get to be a part of millions of individuals accessing the behavioral, dental, and medical services that they need so much! Public health has always intrigued me, and that’s why I obtained degrees in the health care arena. I have always tried to treat people the way I want to be treated, and I always give 100% in whatever I am doing!”

Jeanette Carpio Management Analyst OQI Strategic Partnerships

Susan Hagler Team Lead OPPD Policy
“I knew pretty early on that I wanted a career in public service, but I didn't know where to start. I ‘fell’ into the Bureau of Health Care Delivery and Assistance, the precursor to BPHC, as a Presidential Management Intern when my dream of working for the State Department and becoming the Secretary of State didn't materialize. Thank goodness! It was a match made in heaven, and I never looked back. I feel very fortunate to have had a career where I know my work makes a difference in the lives of countless people, which would not have been possible without the incredible colleagues I've known over the years. Their commitment to each other and the mission of this program is a constant inspiration.”

Amanda Reyes Team Lead OPPD Policy
“With perspective, I realize that my career is about connection. I look back with gratitude to the people who I have leaned on and learned from over the years, and I look forward to continuing this journey with the people around me now. I appreciate you all, and thank you!”

I hope that the next 15 years are just as rewarding and I look forward to continuing to support others as a public servant.”

“Working alongside committed public servants who embody values such as honesty, integrity, scholarship, and wisdom has inspired me to prioritize well-being, foster growth, and create a positive impact through my work at BPHC. This service anniversary reminds me of the vital role these values play in driving our organization forward.”

“This service anniversary represents not just the time I've spent here but the countless experiences, challenges, and successes I've been a part of. It's a testament to the collaborative environment here, the mentors who've guided me, and the opportunities HRSA has offered. It's a reminder of my growth and evolution as a professional. Looking ahead, I'm eager to contribute even more, take on new challenges, and continue my growth with this incredible organization."

We acknowledge BPHC employees’ federal length of service milestone anniversaries beginning with 10 years of service and every five additional years after that (15, 20, 25, 30, etc.).
This is 100% voluntary — you may opt-out if you prefer. If you are willing, we announce your milestone in a quarterly bulletin like this one (with an optional photo and quote) and at an in person BPHC All-Hands.
The next in person BPHC All-Hands is Tuesday, October 10, where honorees will receive their length of service certificate if they attend.
If you have any questions about this initiative, please contact the BPHC Insider. If you have questions about your length of service anniversary, contact BPHCRecognition@hrsa.gov.
NOTE: We linked the name of one employee who participated in the BPHC Insider’s Getting to Know column. Interested in participating in a future Getting to Know? Select eight or more questions to answer from this list and email your responses to BPHC Insider.
Congratulations again to everyone with milestone service anniversaries!
