May 22, 2023
HRSA-funded health centers will soon receive a “starter kit” of promotional items about the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline. These materials will support your efforts to share this important resource with communities nationwide. Each health center will receive:
- Wallet cards
- 100 magnets
- 24 posters
The cover letter includes information on how to order more materials when needed. You can also download printable wallet cards, social media graphics, and newsletter content in English and Spanish from HRSA’s website.
We expect that you’ll receive these materials as part of Maternal Mental Health Month, toward the end of May.

Background
HRSA launched the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline on Mother’s Day in 2022. HRSA-funded health centers played an instrumental role in making that happen by serving as participants in the pilot phase.
The hotline recently celebrated its first anniversary. See data from the first year on HRSA’s website. They also introduced an easier-to-remember number: 833-TLC-MAMA. (The old number will continue working for a year.)
The hotline provides free, confidential, 24/7 emotional support, resources, and referrals for pregnant and postpartum individuals facing mental health challenges, and their loved ones. Professional counselors offer support via phone and text in English and Spanish, so people can get the help they need when they need it. Interpreter services are available in 60 additional languages. TTY users can use a preferred relay service.
