COVID-19 Response: With drastic growth in the need for behavioral health services, Families Together of Orange County (CA) has sought to empower patients to take control of their health through an integrated health model that combines medical and wellness services.

Community Outreach: Su Clinica (TX) held special family events to reconnect with patients, including a Halloween 2021 bash and a Spring into Summer event earlier this year. The events helped staff develop a list of patients who were behind in vaccinations, leading to an increase in human papillomavirus vaccination rates among girls and women.

Funding for Maternal Health Care Through the fiscal year 2023 Quality Improvement Fund-Maternal Health Care (QIF-Maternal Health, HRSA-23-027) funding opportunity, HRSA will invest up to $25 million for health centers to increase equitable access to maternal health care in underserved communities.

Recordings Available: 2022 Uniform Data System TA Webinar Series Access the recordings of the 2022 Uniform Data System (UDS) reporting webinars in the UDS Training and TA section of our website. These addressed how to count visits and complete clinical, financial, and operations tables in the UDS. They also include strategies for successful UDS report submissions, opportunities for quality improvement, and COVID-19 impacts across measures.

Recording Available: Fostering Workplace Wellness through the COVID-19 Pandemic and Beyond In September, HRSA presented a webinar to share practical strategies for addressing burnout and promoting employee wellness and resilience. We featured the director of the Mental Health Technology Transfer Center and a panel discussion with health center staff from across the country describing specific strategies they use to foster workplace wellness. CDC Health Advisory: Increased Respiratory Virus Activity, Especially Among Children, Early in the 2022-2023 Fall and Winter CDC’s recent health advisory addresses the prevalence of COVID-19, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), influenza, and other viruses. It includes specific considerations and resources for providers.

Monkeypox Updates Monkeypox vaccination remains a critical public health priority. HHS recommends encouraging eligible patients to get vaccinated and to offer alternative options for vaccine administration sites to address vaccine confidence. CDC recommends conducting HIV and STI screening for people with confirmed or suspected monkeypox, as people who are immunocompromised are at higher risk for severe manifestations of monkeypox.

Assistance for Open Enrollment Assisters Are you an Open Enrollment Assister? CMS invites you to register for their Assister webinar series, which you can access through their REGTAP portal. You may first need to sign up for a free REGTAP account.

All of Us Research Program Enrollment Update NIH’s All of Us Research Program now has more than 542,000 participants, including more than 389,000 who have provided physical measurements and biospecimens. All of Us works with more than 100 funded partner organizations including Federally Qualified Health Centers and has 540 sites collecting biosamples and physical measurements. The program will transform health research by equipping researchers with expansive health data from diverse populations, especially those underrepresented in biomedical research. More than 2,800 health researchers are leveraging this one-of-a-kind dataset to improve understanding of health and disease, identify opportunities to reduce disparities, and enable more precise approaches to care. COVID-19
Single-dose Vials of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Bivalent Booster Available to Order As of Monday, November 14, health centers may order single-dose vials of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 bivalent booster vaccines for people aged 12 and older. This option responds to widespread requests to allow greater flexibility for health centers in rural areas or health centers that may not have the demand or capacity to store multi-dose vials.
Health centers will be able to order this product through their state/jurisdiction or through the Health Center COVID-19 Vaccine Program.
