BPHC Bulletin: Pre-Ordering Open TODAY for COVID-19 Bivalent Boosters

Health centers may now pre-order bivalent COVID-19 boosters:

• Pfizer-BioNTech booster for patients ages 12 and older.
• Moderna booster for patients ages 18 and older.

The timeline for pre-ordering through the Health Center COVID-19 Vaccine Program is below.* For health centers ordering from their state or jurisdiction, timing will vary. Contact your state/jurisdiction for more information.

As both products are pending FDA authorization and CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendation, we encourage health centers to place pre-orders at this time. This will ensure availability of either/both vaccines immediately if the appropriate approvals and guidance are issued.

Health Center COVID-19 Vaccine Program Participants You may now pre-order either Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna boosters in the Health Partner Order Portal (HPoP). Wave 1 CLOSES at 11:59 p.m. your local time TODAY (Wednesday, August 17). The table below includes pre-order caps. Orders are limited to ONE manufacturer—only Pfizer-BioNTech OR Moderna. Wave 2 will follow the next ordering cycle. It will close at 11:59 p.m. your local time on Wednesday, August 24. Health centers that do not order today (Wave 1) will have their orders prioritized in Wave 2. HRSA has a limited supply available. Contact your state/jurisdiction to secure additional supply as needed. Doses pre-ordered will begin being processed for delivery if FDA authorizes the product.
