American Rescue Plan UDS+ Funding Fiscal year (FY) 2021 American Rescue Plan (ARP) health center (H8F) and look-alike (L2C) award recipients have until Monday, May 23, at 5:00 p.m. ET to submit their FY 2022 ARP UDS Patient-Level Submission Funding (ARP-UDS+) applications in HRSA's Electronic Handbooks (EHBs).

Service Area Competition NOFO Released for January 1 Starts HRSA released the FY 2023 Service Area Competition (SAC) notice of funding opportunity (NOFO), HRSA-23-018, for service areas with a January 1, 2023, project period start date. Find details for each of the announced service areas on the Service Area Announcement Table.
This NOFO announces the service areas for:
- January 1 start award recipients that received a 1-year period of performance through a SAC/SAC-Additional Areas in FY 2022.
- January 1 start award recipients that were given a 1-year extension due to the COVID-19 pandemic in FY 2022.
Applications are due in Grants.gov by 11:59 p.m. ET on Tuesday, July 5, and in EHBs by 5:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, August 4. TA materials are available on the SAC TA webpage.

FDA Limits Use of Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine to Certain Individuals On Friday, May 6, the FDA limited the authorized use of the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 vaccine to individuals 18 years of age and older for whom other authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccines are not accessible or clinically appropriate, and to individuals 18 years of age and older who elect to receive the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 vaccine because they would otherwise not receive a COVID-19 vaccine.
If you have Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 vaccine on hand, we recommend you store it until expiration so that it is available for use in these limited applications. For additional questions, reach out to us via the BPHC Contact Form.
Updated: CDC COVID-19 Vaccine Quick Reference Guide for Health Care Professionals CDC recently updated this tool for health care professionals. It provides basic information on the proper storage, preparation, and administration of the currently authorized COVID-19 vaccine products in the U.S.
COVID-19 Response Programs Office Hours While these sessions are geared toward participants in our COVID-19 Response Programs, any HRSA-supported health center is welcome to attend.
The next session (Tuesday, May 17) will feature representatives from the HHS Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response providing answers to health center questions about clinical delivery of COVID-19 oral antiviral pills.
Sessions are from 1:00-2:00 p.m. ET. Register one time and you’ll have access to all Office Hour sessions from now until February 2023.

Hepatitis Awareness Month
Viral Hepatitis: Advances in Care and Treatment – Closing the Gap! In recognition of Hepatitis Awareness Month (on Hepatitis Testing Day!), we invite you to a discussion of the state of viral hepatitis in the U.S. and how HRSA-funded health centers are addressing it.
Speakers including Dr. Robert Gish of La Maestra Health Center (San Diego, CA), Dr. Fares Khater of Mountain Comprehensive Healthcare (Prestonsburg, KY), and Dr. John Guilfoose of West Virginia University will describe challenges and share best practices.

Aligning your Health Center Workforce Needs with National Training and TA Services
Join NACHC to discuss and explore the workforce implications of the 2021 National Health Center Training and TA Needs Assessment, learn from health center peers, and inform the development of future training and TA provided to health centers by HRSA-funded NTTAPs. National Health Service Corps New Site Application Deadline Extended HRSA-supported health centers are considered auto-approved sites and can request National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site approval at any time. But for other organizations, HRSA extended the deadline for new site applications. Being NHSC approved can help health centers recruit and retain providers. Apply by Tuesday, June 7.
Workforce Resiliency and Retention Community of Practice We invite HRSA-funded health centers to join and gain access to resources and approaches that can build primary and behavioral health care workforce resilience, as well as strategies for enhancing employee recruitment, engagement, and retention. Topics will include low- and no-cost approaches that health care settings can use to improve staff retention, boost morale, and reduce stress and burnout.
Participants will meet bi-weekly on Tuesdays from 2:00-3:30 p.m. ET beginning May 17 through August 23. Register here.

Strategies to Support Agricultural Workers Experiencing Intimate Partner Violence or Human Trafficking Health Partners on IPV + Exploitation, Migrant Clinicians Network, and Farmworker Justice will co-host a webinar on health care responses to address intimate partner violence (IPV) and exploitation. Partners will share new tools and strategies developed with farmworker communities to address or prevent IPV and partnerships with community-based organizations working alongside farmworkers. It will be in English, with Spanish interpretation available.

Our Healthy Eating Plate: Filipino/a/x and Hmong Editions The Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO) and MHP Salud have created healthy eating education resources for Filipino/a/x and Hmong patients.
These culturally and linguistically appropriate brochures will help patients build nutritious plates with familiar fresh foods. They’ll learn about portion sizes, nutrition facts, and tips for adopting healthier eating habits. Available in English, Hmong, and Tagalog. Both AAPCHO and MHP Salud are HRSA-funded NTTAPs.
