Dear MIECHV Awardees,

Across HRSA, we are committed to ensuring that people at greatest risk for COVID-19 have equitable access to resources that can help prevent its spread. Home visiting programs reach families in underserved communities and, as we know, these are also the populations that have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. Your partnerships with community-based organizations, universities, pediatric providers, and pharmacies have helped to provide critical supports for families.

In response to the Omicron variant, the Biden-Harris Administration has taken action to increase access to COVID-19 tests and high-quality masks, particularly for people at higher risk.  Through the HRSA Health Center COVID-19 N95 Mask Program and the HRSA COVID-19 Testing Supply Program, HRSA is distributing free N95 masks and COVID-19 at-home testing supplies to HRSA-supported health centers.

We encourage home visiting programs to develop, build upon, or leverage existing relationships with health centers to meet the masks and testing supply needs in their communities.  We invite you to reach out to your local health center to access free COVID-19 tests and high-quality masks so that you are able to directly distribute them to the families you serve. Building and strengthening these partnerships will help ensure underserved communities have access to these resources to protect themselves now and into the future.

We thank you for your commitment and dedication in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic while continuing to provide high-quality home visiting services to children and families.
