Dear Regional Partners,
Today, HHS and HRSA awarded an additional $66.5 million in American Rescue Plan funding to eight organizations that will expand community-based efforts to inform and educate target populations to increase COVID-19 vaccine confidence and improve vaccination rates. These organizations will focused primarily on 29 high priority states and their awards build on previous HRSA funding for community-based organizations to increase vaccine access for the hardest-hit and highest-risk communities. With the addition of today’s awards, HHS has provided a total of nearly $390 million to 158 organizations for the Community-based Workforce for COVID-19 Vaccine Program, supporting outreach, events, translation and other enabling services, education, and community health worker support in underserved areas in all 50 states.
