May 1 Start Date? Review Your Patient Target We recently updated patient targets for Health Center Program award recipients with a May 1 budget period start date. On Thursday, May 27, we sent an email message to the Authorizing Officials and Project Directors of these health centers, which indicated whether the health center would complete a fiscal year (FY) 2022 Service Area Competition (SAC) or Budget Period Progress Report. The email also included a direct link to the updated patient target. Health centers that will complete an FY 2022 SAC for awards starting May 1, 2022, should review their patient target and take appropriate action in EHBs by Thursday, June 17.

COVID-19
Health Center COVID-19 Weekly Survey As a reminder: Due to Memorial Day, the current survey is not due until Wednesday, June 2, at 11:59 p.m. your local time.
We know you have a lot on your plates and we appreciate your effort to share this important information. As part of our continuous improvement efforts, we reviewed the survey, aiming to reduce the number of questions. Beginning this Friday, June 4, we’re removing four questions: 4, 8, 13, and 14. (Visit our website for the text of the questions.) We also simplified the answers for question 5, which asks about the time it takes to receive test results. We did not make any updates to the addendum.
We’ll update our website to reflect these changes by Friday.

Vaccine Administration in Dental Clinics Job Instruction Sheet The National Network for Oral Health Access (NNOHA) has worked with health center dental leaders engaged in delivering COVID-19 vaccines to develop this job instruction resource for dental providers. This tool is intended as a resource to train dental providers on the new processes for vaccine administration. NNOHA is a HRSA-funded NTTAP.
The First Three Months: COVID-19 Vaccine Deployment This publication by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) evaluates health centers' challenges with administering the vaccine in the first three months of vaccine deployment. NACHC is a HRSA-funded NTTAP.
Health centers across the nation have distinguished themselves in responding to the current pandemic. Here’s a recent example:
Santa Clara County Partners with the 49ers to Make Strides to Vaccinate Teens Thanks to support from the Health Center COVID-19 Vaccine Program, Santa Clara County partnered with the San Francisco 49ers last month to get more teens vaccinated through a series of youth nights at Levi’s Stadium.
As of May 10, only 16% of 16- and 17-year-olds in Santa Clara County were fully vaccinated. The teen vaccination nights held May 11-13 sought to increase that percentage.
Several thousand high school students from the area came to the mass vaccination site, urging their peers to follow their lead through TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter. As a result of the Levi’s Stadium clinics, nearly 3,000 teens age 16-18 were vaccinated. Read this recent CBS San Francisco Bay Area article to learn more.

The center is a HRSA-funded NTTAP.
