bphc health center program bulletin

To raise awareness among clinicians to be on the lookout for cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) and how to manage it, CDC has prepared a health alert notice describing this condition and providing basic advice for practitioners, public health officials, and consumers. CDC and FDA are reviewing data involving six U.S. cases of CVST out of nearly 7 million vaccinations using the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 vaccine that were reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System.

In addition, the American Society of Hematology has prepared a set of frequently asked questions with detailed advice regarding the diagnosis and treatment of vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT).
