We’ll focus on COVID-19 vaccine issues, including vaccine confidence, and feature special guests to discuss how to engage special populations:

  • Bobby Watts, CEO of The National Health Care for the Homeless Council (a HRSA-funded National Training and Technical Assistance Partner)
  • Manny Lopes, President and Chief Executive Officer of East Boston Neighborhood Health Center (Boston, MA)
  • Dr. Faith Polkey, Chief Clinical Officer of Beaufort-Jasper Comprehensive Health Services (Ridgeland, SC)

If you cannot attend, we encourage you to watch the recording once it’s posted on our COVID-19 Information for Health Centers and Partners webpage.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
We recently added a Vaccines category to our COVID-19 FAQ webpage and added these questions to it today:

  • Where can health centers find information on how to become a COVID-19 vaccine provider?
  • If a health center will be administering COVID-19 vaccinations at locations within its community but outside of a health center site documented on Form 5B: Service Sites, must the health center submit a change in scope request to add “Immunizations” to its Form 5C: Other Activities/Locations?

Update on Health Center and Look-Alike COVID-19 Survey
Thank you to everyone who’s completed the weekly survey! Several health centers have asked who should be included in their response to the number of people who received the COVID-19 vaccine.

Please include both health center patients your health center vaccinated and health center patients who may have received the vaccination elsewhere (if you have a record of the immunization). Also include the count of all other individuals you provided COVID-19 vaccinations to with the exception of your staff who are captured in a separate question.

We also want to let you know that, beginning with the February 5 survey, we’ll remove the two flu vaccine questions (#15 and 16).

As a reminder, the Survey Tool User Guide allows you to quickly “jump” to the instructions for any question.

Progress Update on BPHC REACH
In recent years, BPHC embarked on a multiyear transformation effort that provided us an opportunity to reassess and improve upon how we accomplish our mission and achieve our goals.

HRSA recently approved key changes to our Bureau’s structure that will enable us to achieve the above goal. These changes align with our goals:

  • BPHC as the best place to work.
  • Increased compliance with program requirements.
  • Successful Implementation of Grants.
  • High-performing grantees.
  • BPHC as a recognized leader in primary health care.

Today, a Federal Register Notice (or FRN) describing this new structure is available. We shared information about this in Tuesday’s Primary Health Care Digest and BPHC Associate Administrator Jim Macrae will discuss some of the key changes at TODAY’s “Today with Macrae” session.
