Today with Macrae: Health Center Program Wrap-Up
Here are the slides from last week’s Today with Macrae session. As a reminder, we post the recordings of the most recent sessions on our COVID-19 Information for Health Centers and Partners webpage.

Guest speakers talked about ways your health center and patients can help us all rise above COVID. See more information below.

  • Operation Warp Speed COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma Therapeutics
Patients who’ve recovered from COVID-19 can donate plasma to help current/future patients fight infection. The Fight is In Us website has information for health care providers who want to talk with patients. You can also email questions.

  • COVID-19 Treatment Clinical Trials
There are no proven treatments for people who have symptomatic COVID-19 but are not sick enough to be in the hospital. To try to change that, NIH funds The ACTIV-2 Study, which is conducted by the AIDS Clinical Trials Group.

If you have adult patients recently diagnosed with COVID-19, consider encouraging them to join this clinical trial. Patients must have tested positive within the last seven days (within one week of having the test) and are at home with symptoms.

The trial website includes helpful information:
    --Eligibility
    --Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
    --Study locations across the U.S.

Please contact David Alain Wohl, M.D., with questions and interest.

If your health center is interested in the FTCA requirements related to clinical trials, please visit our COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions.

Deadline This Week! New Phase of Provider Relief Fund
Safety net providers are encouraged to apply for the latest round of Provider Relief Fund (PRF) support. Applications will be considered regardless of whether your organization was previously eligible for, applied for, received, accepted, or rejected prior PRF payments. For this newest phase, funding will be allocated to providers based on assessed financial losses and changes in operating expenses caused by COVID-19. Apply here through Friday, November 6.
