What's New
Now Available: Updated Look-Alike Initial Designation Instructions For organizations planning to become a health center, we have updated the Look-Alike Initial Designation (LAL ID) Instructions to better align with the Compliance Manual and other Health Center Program applications (e.g., New Access Point, Service Area Competition). LAL ID applications already underway may be submitted using the old instructions. Visit the LAL ID technical assistance webpage for more information on LALs, including information on when and how to apply.
2020 Site Visit Protocol Update HRSA remains committed to regular updates of the Site Visit Protocol (SVP) to ensure that this document remains useful and responsive to stakeholder feedback. For 2020, the update focuses on editorial and formatting improvements to the Operational Site Visit report, such as more consistent use of acronyms.
We included a minor change within the Clinical Staffing section related to National Practitioner Data Bank queries, given the broad nature of queryable health care practitioner types. Visit the National Practitioner Data Bank Health Center page for more information and resources.
There were no other substantive changes to SVP questions or methodologies in the 2020 update.
Health Center Service Site Address Updates HRSA is updating health center service-delivery site addresses to align with U.S. Postal Service standards.
- Minor updates, which do not require health center effort, will occur in April to approximately 4,500 site addresses.
- Another update, planned for this summer, will involve approximately 400 health center service delivery site changes. These will require validation by health centers and review by HRSA. We will share more information as that update approaches.
Quarterly 340B Program Registration Quarterly 340B Program site registration is open from April 1 to 15. Health centers will still be able to register a site that has been verified as implemented and with a site status reflected as “active” in HRSA’s Electronic Handbooks Form 5B through Friday, May 22. After that date, the system will close to prepare for the July 1 start. Email the 340B call center or call 888-340-2787 (Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. ET) to register a new site or ask questions.
You will need to provide the following information when calling:
- Health center name.
- Site/clinic name.
- Site IDs for all sites.
- HRSA/BPHC grant number.
- Contact name and email address.
- Authorizing official name and email address.
The authorizing official will receive an email message that the account is unlocked and a registration may be submitted.
