QIAs

Celebrating Health Center Quality Improvement
Today, HHS announced nearly $107 million in Quality Improvement Awards (QIA) to 1,273 health centers across all U.S. states, territories, and the District of Columbia. QIAs are given to the highest performing health centers nationwide as well as those health centers that have made significant quality improvement gains from the previous year.

The QIAs recognize health center achievements in

  • Improving cost-efficient care delivery, while also increasing quality of care;
  • Reducing health disparities;
  • Increasing both the number of patients served and patients’ ability to access comprehensive services;
  • Advancing the use of health information technology; and
  • Delivering patient-centered care.

Health centers that ranked in the top 1 to 2% in one or more key areas—behavioral health, diabetes prevention and management, and heart health—received designation as National Quality Leaders (NQL).

The top 30% of health centers that achieved the best overall clinical performance received designation as Health Center Quality Leaders (HCQL).

Learn more about the fiscal year (FY) 2019 QIAs.

Beginning this week, HRSA Regional Administrators will visit health centers across the country to present certificates to select NQL and HCQL recipients. All NQL and HCQL recipients will receive certificates either by mail or through a regional event. Follow HRSA on social media (@hrsagov) to see photos from QIA regional events.

High-resolution QIA badges are available by contacting Health Center Program Support online or by phone (877-464-4722). Health centers with questions about QIA certificates should also contact Health Center Program Support.

To learn more about the purpose and impact of the QIAs, eligibility, and award criteria, please join us for a webinar:
