Hopefully, you were able to join this week’s lunch and learn session on building everyday resilience. If you missed it, you can watch a recording of the content Dr. Diona Emmanuel presented (thanks, Dr. Emmanuel!).
In addition to giving you resources to equip your mental health toolkit, we have a healthy (and fun) stir fry cooking demo, created by OCFO’s own LaTanya Benson, to help build your repertoire of nutritious meals!
Last week’s poll asked: Which Olympic sport fits your fitness style? Here’s how you responded:
- Athletics, or track and field, led the pack with 33% of responses
- Weightlifting was second, with 25%
- Finally, cycling was third, at 17%
This week’s poll question: What’s your favorite healthy snack, dish, or meal?
Check back next week, when we’ll highlight a few standouts — and don’t forget to make the most of a meeting stand-down day 🚫📅 on Monday! Next up:
-
Aug. 28th - Paws & Claws Meet and Greet (don't forget to sign up to show off your pets!)
Your participation in OCFO Wellness Month activities is voluntary, but we hope you can attend. If you have questions or need an accommodation to participate fully, reach out to the Engagement Team at OCFOEngagementTeam@gsa.gov.

Shout out to Gabriel Pedro (CSDE1)!
Gabriel performed excellent work helping to analyze and present RPA program data for the annual State of Federal RPA report! He analyzed complex data sets and translated those into critical report findings and put together visually compelling graphics.
Thank you to Gabriel for his thoughtful and comprehensive work!
Submitted by: Kathy Hammer (BG) and Anthony Cavallo and Gabrielle Perret (both BGR)
Shout out to Shon Haines (BGR)!
Thanks to Shon Haines, who built the new Opportunity Network automation. We are able to efficiently utilize the Opportunity Network program to its fullest potential with less oversight needed by the program manager. We are leveraging the automation to efficiently track each step of the process and monitor progress along the way. We are saving time by reducing manual touchpoints and decreasing the opportunity for errors. This automation has been a major upgrade to the Opportunity Network program and the platform is much more user friendly for both the program manager and end user.

Shout out to Mary Black and Tracy Stephens (both BGF)!
Thank you for the excellent customer support you provide! You have both been recognized by GSS in their peer recognition program. “Mary and Tracy are a joy to work with. I have had challenges with FM guidance and they are always so helpful and professional. They provide soft reviews for MIPRs before acceptance and answer any questions I have. They have provided additional guidance and references to help make my job easier. I would not be as efficient and effective without them. Teamwork makes the dream work!”

Don't Forget! The Career Planning and Training Tool is Here to Help
The CFO Council's (CFOC) Career Planning and Training Tool has recently undergone a revision to its functionality to make it easier to identify courses that align with the CFOC’s core competencies for the financial management job series (501, 510, 511 and 565). You can start using the tool by clicking on the job series and GS-level filters. Career guidance in the form of virtual cards will display in the center of the screen and below.
Each virtual card will include information about a competency, including a general description, relevant behaviors, and proficiency levels. The cards will also contain embedded links to vendor courses that will help you master aspects of each competency. The partner vendors offer a wide array of course types and learning modalities, including on-line, on-site, hybrid, micro-learning, cohort style, and many more. These courses are available for purchase via government purchase card (note - purchases on government purchase cards are limited to $10,000; most courses are significantly less than that).
Try it today and give your professional development a boost!
