New! Time and Leave Guidance for the Juneteenth National Independence Day Holiday
“Juneteenth,” the 19th of June, is a Federal holiday for pay and leave purposes for all federal employees. Employees scheduled to work that day will receive holiday pay. Employees on a standard or flexible schedule are provided with 8 hours of holiday pay. Employees on a compressed schedule are provided holiday pay for the number of hours they would have been scheduled to work on that day (i.e., 8, 9, 10, or 12 hours).
Some full-time employees may not be scheduled to work on the holiday. If you are in this group, you are instead eligible for an in-lieu-of holiday. The in-lieu-of holiday is the last workday immediately before Memorial Day. For most employees, the in-lieu-of holiday will be observed on Friday, June 16, 2023.
Regularly-scheduled part-time employees assigned to duty on Monday, June 19, are eligible for the paid holiday. However, part-time and intermittent employees not scheduled for duty on that day are not entitled to an in-lieu-of holiday.
To record holiday time off, use the time reporting code 002-Holiday Observed. Do not place any information into the “Additional TRC,” “Labor Code,” or “Task Code” fields.
You can direct timekeeping questions to your organizational time administrator or to the timekeeper help desk (timekeeping.help-desk@gsa.gov).

Take a "Vacation to Alation" with a New OCFO Training and Resource Library Video
Have you heard about Alation? If you are not an OCFO data steward or functional expert, then there is a good chance you have not heard about it. What is Alation? Alation is a data catalog tool that helps organizations identify, understand, and manage their data assets. Or as it applies to the OCFO, "making sense of the data so that you can make cents off the data!"
Alation is not yet widely available but hopefully that will change in the months to come. Users can benefit from the tool by learning about GSA financial data through well crafted data definitions, examples, links to useful sites, and articles. So, if you are curious, you can watch the training video or walk through the self-paced slide deck posted in the OCFO Training and Resource Library under "Vacation to Alation."
See a Game with Your Colleagues at Nats Park on August 1st ⚾
OCFO is again hosting a Nationals outing for those in the D.C. area. The game is on Tuesday, August 1st at 7:05 p.m. versus Milwaukee. Tickets should be around $20 (give or take a buck or two).
If you're interested in attending, Evan Farley has set up a spreadsheet where you can add your name, number of tickets, and office. Please add your email address if you intend to use the Ballpark app.
What is the Ballpark app you ask? Nationals Park only uses digital tickets and these tickets will be distributed to Evan electronically. You will have two ways to gain access to the park. First, if you have an MLB account and use the Ballpark app, Evan will forward the ticket to the email address associated with your MLB account. This allows you to enter the park at your leisure using a ticket on your phone. If not, He will arrange a time prior to first pitch where everyone will meet at a designated spot and he will use my phone to admit those without Ballpark one by one.
Please sign up by Monday, July 10th. If your name is on the list as of that date, a ticket will be purchased for you. If you ultimately can't use the ticket, you will still be responsible for the cost (you are, of course, free to pass the ticket to a colleague or contact Evan to help find an OCFO buyer).
Venmo or PayPal are Evan's preferred methods of payment, and details for sending payment will follow for those who sign up.
