Best Practice: Login into Kahua weekly You'll love this tip! Kahua runs updates to its system over the weekends. By logging into Kahua each week using this link: https://launch.kahuafn.com/, it ensures you have the latest version of Kahua and it keeps your load time down.
Annual Account Recertification Don’t play heart to get, recertify your Kahua account before February 28. It would be sweet if you did it today! It’s not heart to do, follow these simple steps:
1. Login to Kahua 2. Open the Tasks app 3. Click on the task with 'User Recertification' as the subject 4. Click 'I certify that I require access to Kahua'* 5. Accept the Rules of Behavior by clicking 'I acknowledge' at the bottom 6. Click 'Submit'
*If you no longer need access to Kahua, simply click the 'I no longer need access to Kahua' option and click 'Submit.' Breaking up is hard to do; but if you ever need Kahua, we’ll take you back in a heartbeat.
For additional assistance, you can view a video of the Kahua recertification process, attend a Kahua Recertification Training class or submit a support ticket using the Kahua Support & Feedback Form.
Phase 3 Usage and Capability Survey #2 It’s our heart’s desire for those who work on under prospectus projects or post occupancy lease alterations, to fill out the second Kahua Usage and Capability Survey. The survey was emailed on January 26 and will close on February 9. If you received the survey, please find it in your heart to take a few moments to respond. Your feedback is important to us in helping improve your experience in using Kahua. We’d love to hear from you!
Phase 2 Focus Groups We’re getting to the heart of the matter. As a follow up to the Phase 2 Usage and Capability Survey #2, we plan to conduct regional focus groups to learn firsthand how Kahua can be improved to meet your needs. If you work on above prospectus projects and would like to participate, please reach out to your regional Kahua Program Manager.
Kahua Focus Day We could heartly wait for Kahua Focus Day! The second quarterly focus day was held on February 1. If you missed it, you can find the session recordings on the Kahua Google site under the Resources tab. The day was choc full of good information. You’ll love every minute of it! The day began with opening remarks from Jennifer Groman, Assistant Commissioner for the Office of Project Delivery, who shared the benefits of using Kahua and encouraged collaboration in the tool. The sessions for the day included: a walk-through of the Submittals and Design Review processes, a demonstration of how auto project creation works, a shared best practice on R8’s Learning Center, and an overview of the FY23 Reporting and Measures requirements.

Updates to Kahua’s “Model Viewer and 3D Markup Tool” Kahua’s “Model Viewer and 3D Markup Tool” now benefits from the latest version of Autodesk (formerly Forge) Viewer. Overall user experience, loading times, and other issues have been improved.
Kahua Platform Release - February 18 Below are a few updates you’ll see in Kahua’s February platform release. For more details go to February 2023 Release Notes: - Restore files and folders that have been deleted while working offline. - Run reports over multiple projects. - Upload files from your Google drive directly into Controlled Folders. - New option for capturing batch name/date when uploading files to Controlled Folders. - Collaborative reviews sync all files in the Reference Section allowing reviewers to see what other reviewers are doing, minimizing duplication of efforts. - The Milestones App now supports a Gantt view for selected milestone records. - Milestones can be baselined by enabling the baseline option in Configuration.

Region 8 Leasing Training Pilot The virtual Kahua training float is headed to Region 8! The Kahua training team will hold a workshop for Region 8 personnel who work on leased acquisitions below prospectus, February 27 - March 1. During this 3-day session, lease project team members (Lease Project Managers, Workplace Specialists, and Planning Managers) will learn how and when to use Kahua applications throughout the project lifecycle. Invitations will be sent to attendees.
CILP Training It’s beignet while since we’ve held CILP training. Be sure to catch the next Kahua CILP application session scheduled for February 15 and 23. Invitations will be sent to regional CILP POCs.

Milestone Training with Mick It's time to get jazzy! Mick Montague and the training team are in the mood to bring back the Advanced Schedules course in March. You'll be in the swing of it in no time. Highlights of the training include: - A brief overview of a typical MS Project schedule template. - Quick and 'big easy' ways to turn a schedule template into the project schedule. - Upload the schedule to the Scheduling app and illustrate how to view the schedule. - Review how the Milestone app is populated and reflect on the information that can be viewed.
