A National Alert and Accountability System Update
Les Painter, OCFO's emergency coordinator, has an update on the National Alert and Accountability System:
GSA recently updated the data fields uploaded into the National Alert and Accountability System (NAAS) to include adding a new physical region field. Each employee's physical region is usually assigned based on duty station location. For instance, I live in Spotsylvania, VA, and work remotely but report to the Central Office. Your duty station is your office location (typically for onsite required or onsite flexible employee categorization positions) or your home (typically for an offsite position). Since I live and work (from home) in Virginia, I may receive NAAS messages from Region 3 drills because of my geographical location. This same situation may affect some or all of you. You may begin to receive regional drill messages and if/when OCFO conducts its quarterly drills. Please click the link and respond to any message received to ensure that OCFO is ready.
Please also remember that disasters (true emergencies) are local, geographic events, and we want to ensure your safety if something happens at your duty station.
If you have any questions or require additional information, don't hesitate to contact me.

Every week we will feature OCFO colleagues who have been recognized by their peers for their great work and character. This is a quick, easy, and fun way to acknowledge and thank one another.
To recognize one (or more) of your peers in the next Week in Review, use the OCFO Shout Outs Google Form.

Shout out to Joan Chung-Choy (BR3B)!
Joan went above and beyond to help fellow OCFO associates in Zone 3. Now that most OCFO employees work from home, two Financial Management Division staff members did not know that their GSA travel cards were mailed to the R9 Regional Office. Joan saw the mail sitting there when she was in the office and took action to work with the mailroom to get the cards re-mailed to the home addresses. Thank you, Joan, for going out of your way to help others!

Shout out to Lauren Franklin (BGF)!
Shout out to Lauren Franklin for her expert handling and coordination in getting $5 billion of expense accruals and $2 billion of income accruals posted in the January book month after the first set of files failed to post due to a systems communication error.
Lauren's intricate knowledge of the system interactions allowed her to quickly diagnose the issue and contact the appropriate contacts to coordinate a response and resolution. With her efforts, $7 billion of worksheet adjustments were avoided. Thank you, Lauren, for another great save!
