COVID-19 Reminders

Dear GSA Colleagues,

As discussed in our Town Hall on July 19, we have been closely following the recent rise in COVID-19 cases in many parts of the country. We use data on case counts and incidents, along with CDC and Safer Federal Workforce Task Force (SFWTF) guidance, to proactively manage our COVID response and ensure alignment with evolving conditions.

Safety remains our top priority, and I want to remind everyone of our policies:

  • Symptoms Screening: As required by the SFWTF, GSA requires all employees to complete a symptom screening process prior to facility entry. If an employee is not able to enter into the facility based on the screening process, the employee should work with their supervisor or local reasonable accommodation coordinator (LRAC) to determine the appropriate next steps.
  • Screening Testing: As recommended by the CDC and required by the SFWTF, all employees who are not fully vaccinated must complete weekly testing when reporting to a GSA facility in a county with a High or Medium COVID-19 community level designation. These employees are notified weekly of their requirements and, if required to test, the results are sent to their supervisor for validation.
  • Masking: Masking is required for all employees reporting to a facility that is in a CDC-designated county with a High COVID-19 community level. Building managers are notified weekly of the facility's community level and update signage accordingly.
  • Incident Reporting and Facility Notifications: If an employee reports to a facility and then tests positive for COVID-19, the employee is required to notify their supervisor or LRAC, who collects key information and completes the Incident Reporting Form. After completing the form, individuals who have potentially been in close contact with the employee are automatically notified and an email is sent to PBS leadership and building managers to notify other occupants of the facility and assess if either additional notifications or cleaning of the facility is required.

Please let us know if you have any questions regarding these policies via safergsaworkforce@gsa.gov. I hope all of you enjoy a healthy summer and thank you for all you do for GSA.

Best,

Katy
