Reminder: It's Mid-year Review Time!

As we reach the mid-way point of the fiscal year, it is time for mid-year performance reviews. Your review provides an excellent opportunity for two-way communication with your supervisor. Use it to assess your performance against expectations and goals described in your performance plan. Take this opportunity to have a productive discussion with your supervisor about your performance and priorities — it is a learning experience and one that will only improve our ability to accomplish the mission.

Please acknowledge your mid-year in HR Links by Tuesday, May 31, 2022. Use this job aid for step-by-step instructions on acknowledging your mid year progress review in HR Links.

Reminder: BIC is BACK with Additional Training Courses!

Just about every movie made these days has a sequel. In this case, the sequel comes in the form of additional training offerings from the Data Delivery and Management Division (BIC). We offered a variety of courses during the first half of FY 2022, with such topics as Introduction to Business Intelligence, Introduction to PBS BI, Business Objects: Building Reports and Filtering in 15 (minutes), Understanding Financial Data, and Coding Tips from SSO Code Request. Recordings are available in the OCFO Training and Resource Library. We will also recap what we learned in the upcoming edition of the OCFO Quarterly Newsletter. However, based on your feedback and attendance at those events, we wanted to provide additional opportunities this summer.

We realize summer is a time for vacations and, with year end right around the corner, we decided to keep the courses and the content light; however, that does not mean you will not have the chance to learn something new. BIC will conduct two virtual courses and two open office hours from June through August. In addition, we are considering developing a series of 5-minute learning videos that we hope to produce and post on the OCFO Training and Resource Library. Here are the dates and times for the summer sessions.

  • Thursday, June 16, 11:00 a.m.-noon Eastern - Business Objects Open Office Hour

These courses and detailed descriptions can be found under the Training Events Tab within the Library. You will need to register for the Financial InSite and OCFO Financial Taxonomy classes. You can click on those two courses above to register or you can do it from the Training Events tab on InSite. We are using a Google Form for registration this time since OLU is undergoing an upgrade and unavailable for course registrations at the moment. Calendar invites will be sent a few days before the event for those that sign up. For the PBS BI and Business Objects Office Hours, we will be sending a calendar event to current users of those systems. Anyone can pop into those open office hour sessions, but we will include a link in the calendar invite to submit any topics you wish to discuss.
