Reminder: 2021 Combined Federal Campaign Volunteers Needed

The Office of Customer Experience is looking for volunteers — called keyworkers — to help with this year's Combined Federal Campaign.

You don’t have to be a long-time employee, past donor, or even know what the CFC is to serve in the keyworker role. Training committees will provide all of the resources and materials you need to help your colleagues raise critical funds for the more than 5,000 charities participating in the 2021 campaign.

If you’re interested in learning more about this opportunity, reach out to lynette.tillery@gsa.gov, GSA’s 2021 CFC manager, for more information.

Are You Still Thinking Critically?

Have you taken a look at the OCFO’s Critical Thinking Crib Sheet lately? Designed to assist when team issues arise and problems need to be solved, the crib sheet takes the reader through a series of stages that guide teams from problem to solution while keeping critical thinking at the forefront.

Shout Outs

Every week we will feature OCFO colleagues who have been recognized by their peers for their great work and character. This is a quick, easy, and fun way to acknowledge and thank one another. To recognize one (or more) of your peers in next week's Week in Review, use the OCFO Shout Outs Google Form.

Shout out to Mike Stroud (BGP) and Lynnie Wu (BGP)!

Year end is always an interesting time and when things don't go as planned the cavalry needs to be called in. Mike Stroud, Lynnie Wu, and many others in BG played an instrumental role in fixing mistakes done the last day of the year. They helped ensure Zone 3 did not lose a large chunk of FY21 money. Their time and effort will not be forgotten. Thank you, Mike and Lynnie!

Shout out to Will Spelker (BIC)!

Will helped create a report for our office which has saved us countless hours identifying a unique set of RWAs for review that typically we could not isolate quickly. His efforts have helped us improve financial management and contributed to the success of our office. This isn't the first report Will has helped us with, and we appreciate his skill and dedication.

Shout out to Monica Cush, Carolina Morgan, Sandy Braudaway, Michelle Lofton-Foster, Stephanie Taylor-Richardson, Angela Cizek (all BGF)!

Thank you to the BGF "FAS cash" team on your exceptional efforts, especially at fiscal year end, which resulted in historic low amounts of FAS chargebacks and delinquencies. Your dedication and perseverance in resolving these client billing issues is very much appreciated. Thank you!

Reminder: Business Intelligence Tours FY 2022

You asked for it, and now it is here — BI Tours FY 2022! The OCFO Data Delivery and Management Division is offering a series of training courses centered on financial data, coding, and business intelligence. You can preview the course agendas and register using the latest addition to the OCFO Training and Resource Library: our virtual training calendar. In addition to all the great course materials and on-demand videos that already exist in the resource catalog, you will now have an opportunity to take virtual courses on a variety of topics. We are announcing our first six courses:

We tried to offer a variety of courses. Some are for beginners, while others are for those with some experience. Courses run from 15 to 90 minutes, depending on the topic. While most are instructor-led classes, the Filtering in 15 will be a hands-on course where users will follow along with the instructor (that is why the course is limited to 25 attendees, but we are offering 2 different sessions).

Depending on the turnout for these events and the feedback, we will then offer new and some repeat courses during the second half of FY 2022. Of course, we will post the videos from each event in our resource catalog upon course completion.

It’s autumn, the leaves are turning bright colors, and the kids are back in school. Why not join them and sign up for a course? You will receive credit within OLU and, while it does not make a good stocking stuffer, it does make a nice addition to your IDP!
