5 Ways You Can Tell People About The Healthier School Day
1. Show First Lady Michelle Obama's "Welcome Back to School" Message to Students
First Lady Michelle Obama talks directly to students about the healthy new changes students will be seeing in their cafeterias this year. She also explains the importance of eating healthy and what it means to students' growing minds and bodies. This is a very engaging video that will help to motivate your students or child to eat healthier.

3. Take Our "Healthier School Day" PSAs to Your Favorite Radio Station to Play. Or Record Your Own Using Our Transcripts
Radio stations play public service announcements (PSAs) for free as part of of their programming. You can download our audio PSAs and take them to a local radio station so that they can play them for listeners. Here's how:
Pick some
stations that you always
listen to and contact
their public affairs
director or the station's main line.
Some stations
post details about PSA
submissions on their
websites. However, if
they don't, you can ask
the station's public affairs staff the
following questions: a. How should I
submit a PSA - via
e-mail or regular mail? b. What format
should it be in (.mp3, .wav, etc.)? c. Do you require
the transcript? d. Will one of
your DJs read the PSA or
will you just play the
recording? e. When will the
PSA be aired and for how
long?
Follow the radio
station's instructions.
If all goes well, sit
back, relax, and listen
for the PSAs
to be played.
*If the radio station wants one of their DJs to read the PSA or if you want to record your own using a local student/principal/teacher then download the transcripts here.
