2018 National Immunization Awareness Month

August is National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM), an observance sponsored by the National Public Health Information Coalition, in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases.
WIC staff can access the NIAM Toolkit and a number of other resources to help educate participants on the importance of immunizations, such as:
- Immunization Resource Booklets, available in Spanish and English
- Vaccines 101 - Information for WIC Staff, a guide to provide WIC staff with an overview of key vaccine messages
