Subject: New Procedure for Missing Schedules, Statements, Other Required Documents
Affects: Debtors’ Counsel and Pro-Se Debtors
Issue: Voluntary petition filed without required schedules, statements, other documents.
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
For cases filed on or after January 1, 2026, the court will no longer set a show-cause hearing when the debtor fails to timely file schedules, statements, and/or other required documents.
Instead, the court will enter an order requiring the debtor to file the missing documents or a motion for extension of time.
If the debtor fails to file the documents or motion for extension by the deadline, the court will dismiss the case without further notice or hearing.
