S.D. Miss. Bankr: Invitation for Public Comment – Proposed Amendments to Joint Uniform Local Bankruptcy Rules

The United States Bankruptcy Judges for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi are considering a proposed new local rule to clarify requirements for designating the record on appeal. The proposed new local rule would become effective on March 1, 2026.

The public comment period is December 15, 2025 - January 31, 2026.

The Invitation for Public Comment and proposed amendment may be viewed or downloaded from the Court's website at www.mssb.uscourts.gov.

Rule 8009-1. Record on Appeal

(a) Designating the Record on Appeal
A designation of record filed by any party must list the docket number, title, and filing date for each document to be included in the record as it appears on the case or adversary docket.  Documents that are not properly identified will not be included in the record on appeal.
