Guidance: Federal Bankruptcy Rule 1007(b)(7) Personal Financial-Management Course.

The recent amendment to Federal Bankruptcy Rule 1007(b)(7) requires the debtor to file a certificate of course completion issued by the personal financial management course provider unless the provider notifies the court that the debtor completed the course, or the debtor is not required to complete one as a condition to discharge.

The court’s local forms have been revised to conform to the new rule. They are attached and also available for download from the court’s website at www.mssb.uscourts.gov/forms/all-forms.
