The following announcement was posted on the Court's website today: The Retirement of the Honorable Paul M. Glenn, United States Bankruptcy Judge

U.S. Bankruptcy Court For The Middle District Of Florida

Yesterday, June 12, 2019, Bankruptcy Judge Paul M. Glenn submitted a letter announcing his retirement effective upon the appointment of a successor.

Judge Glenn has been a beloved member of the Bankruptcy bench in the Middle District of Florida since his appointment in 1993 where he initially served in the Tampa division of the court. In June 2008, Judge Glenn transferred from the Tampa division to the Jacksonville division. From March 2003 to September 2011, Judge Glenn served as the Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the Middle District of Florida.

During Judge Glenn’s distinguished career with the court, he presided over a number of notable cases, which include the Celotex Corporation, the Amelia Island Plantation, and the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa. He also served on the Committee on the Budget of the Judicial Conference of the United States from 2013–2017.

Judge Glenn will be greatly missed by the court and by the legal communities in the Middle District of Florida. Bankruptcy Judge Cynthia Jackson plans to request a change in her duty station to relocate from the Orlando division to the Jacksonville division to fill the vacancy created by Judge Glenn’s retirement. The Circuit Court of Appeals is expected to commence promptly a recruitment for a successor judge for the Orlando division.
