FDIC Makes Public July Enforcement Actions;

One Administrative Hearing Scheduled for September 2016

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) today released a list of orders of administrative enforcement actions taken against banks and individuals in July. One administrative hearing is scheduled for September 2016.

The FDIC issued a total of 21 orders. The administrative enforcement actions in those orders consisted of one consent order; nine removal and prohibition orders; five Section 19 orders; and six terminations of consent orders and cease and desist orders.

Congress created the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in 1933 to restore public confidence in the nation's banking system. The FDIC insures deposits at the nation's banks and savings associations, 6,122 as of March 31, 2016.
