FDIC Advisory Committee on Economic Inclusion to Meet Friday

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Advisory Committee on Economic Inclusion (ComE-IN) will meet on Friday, October 30, to discuss initial findings from the FDIC's qualitative research on mobile financial services for underserved consumers.

Other topics for discussion by the advisory committee include updates on initiatives by non-profit and public sector organizations to expand access to the banking sector, on community banking research, and on expanding economic inclusion for individuals with disabilities. Further, there will be a discussion on the FDIC's Money Smart for Small Business.

The meeting will be open to the public and will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the FDIC's Board Room, 6th Floor, 550 17th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. Security screening and presentation of valid photo identification are required to enter the building. The meeting also will be webcast live. The advisory committee was approved by the FDIC Board of Directors in 2006 to provide the FDIC with advice and recommendations on important initiatives focused on expanding access to banking services for underserved populations.
