Introducing the FAR Companion
|
The FAR Council has released the FAR Companion, a new guide designed to help acquisition professionals take full advantage of the increased discretion created by the streamlined FAR.
The FAR Companion provides context, practical advice, and seasoned practitioner insight to support planning, awarding, managing, and closing out contracts—all while staying aligned with the FAR’s core buying principles.
This new resource strengthens the acquisition workforce by:
- Consolidating expertise from a variety of trusted sources in one place.
- Preserving proven practices from the pre-streamlined FAR that continue to reflect good stewardship.
- Encouraging managed risk-taking through advice, not rigid compliance requirements.
- Creating an agile resource that evolves alongside RFO implementation and reduces the need for agency-specific guidance.
The FAR Companion is available now on Acquisition.gov and will be continuously updated throughout the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul rollout.
