New Line Items Course Available In FAITAS!

Check out the new online course FAC 076, Establishing Line Items for Contracts and Orders, which is available in FAITAS! Learn how to correctly implement the new line item rule. The primary objective of the Rule was to set standards for the uniform use of line items in Federal procurement. In order to provide time to transition their information systems, agencies were given until October 1, 2019 to apply the requirements of FAR 4.1002 through 4.1008. The new Rule for line items provides more detail about when line items are needed and what data elements are required for each line item. Take this class to learn more! (Earn .75 CLPs.)

PBS, DLA Utilities Contracts Now Get Tier 2 SUM Credit

Through a collaborative, interagency process, the Facilities and Construction category recently worked with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and GSA’s Public Building Service (PBS) to get DLA Deregulated Utilities and PBS Area-wide Utilities contracts reclassified as Tier 2. This reclassification of previously Tier 0 contracts to Tier 2 was approved by the Office of Management and Budget, and resulted in a government-wide increase in spend under management (SUM) of over $865M! 1,300+ Labor Categories Added to CALC Tools

The Contract Awarded Labor Categories (CALC) digital tool now has 1,369 labor categories from Schedules 58 I Professional Audio/Video, Telemetry/Tracking, Recording/Reproducing, and Signal Data Solutions; 78 Sports, Promotional, Outdoor, Recreation, Trophies & Signs (SPORTS); 71 Furniture, and 36 The Office, Imaging & Document Solution. Contracting Officers can now search labor categories across 11 GSA Schedules and more than 76,800 labor categories. CALC helps federal contracting officers and others find awarded prices to use in negotiations for labor contracts. It offers ceiling prices, fully burdened costs, services data, and worldwide rates.
