Additional Information Regarding Return to In-Person Work

Federal Aviation Administration

Dear FAA Employees,

The purpose of this message is to provide further guidance to the memorandum issued on February 7, 2025, regarding the implementation of the Presidential Memorandum titled: Return to In-Person Work.

Detailed below is the FAA’s timeline for Return to In-Person Work. Please note that this schedule matches that of the Department of Transportation:

  • February 24, 2025: As of today, all executives are reporting to their respective offices/facilities full-time. Executives are expected to initiate new situational telework agreements no later than March 10, 2025.
  • March 10, 2025* – All other FAA employees begin returning to their respective offices/facilities on a full-time basis (80 hours per pay period). All managers must communicate full-time in-person work requirements to their direct reports. This communication should occur immediately but must occur no later than March 7, 2025.

*Employees may be asked to report to an FAA-designated facility earlier than March 10 based on mission and operational needs.

  • April 7, 2025 – AHR will communicate reporting guidance to mobile workers, remote workers, employees teleworking as a reasonable accommodation, and employees who do not have designated workspace.

We recognize that this is a significant change. We are committed to providing as much support as we can to employees during this transition. This effort will also involve making updates to our physical offices – in terms of how space is used and how we leverage technology – that we are already working on and will continue to make progress on in the months ahead.

Thank you for your continued dedication to our mission.
