Hi everyone,
Two weeks ago, we received the Office of Management and Budget memo that directed agencies to evaluate organizational health and performance - and continue to substantially increase in-person work. I committed to keep you posted as there are developments.
No decisions have been made, but here is the latest:
This week, we held a listening session with union leadership to hear workforce views on the OMB guidance.
The Management Board created executive-level working groups to focus on specific aspects of FAA’s post-pandemic work environment. These groups will review both pre-pandemic and re-entry work procedures and practices for each LOB and SO and consider the information obtained at the listening session. Over the next few weeks, the working groups will present options to the Management Board. The Board will take all-available information into account as it makes decisions regarding post-pandemic work policies and practices and conducts assessments of our organizational health and performance, in accordance with OMB guidance.
Our decisions will be guided by the FAA’s mission and our collective interest in recruiting, developing and retaining the talent needed to fulfill that mission. I’ll continue to keep you informed on our efforts.
In the meantime, I encourage you to review a new Hybrid Workplace Toolkit assembled by the Office of Human Resource Management as well as online and in-person training opportunities for employees at all levels offered by the Office of Personnel Management.
Thank you for your public service and for the work you do each and every day.
-Billy
