February 24, 2022
Dear FAA Colleagues,
Earlier today, you received an email from Phil McNamara, Assistant Secretary for Administration at the Department of Transportation (DOT) regarding the timeline for employees currently on maximum telework to begin to reenter the workplace.
The email outlined a specific date of April 11, 2022 for FAA employees to begin a three (3)-week phased reentry, which may include a transition to new work schedules. This allows us to provide employees with at least a 30-day notice.
Policy Bulletin 112, Telework Flexibilities in Response to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic, will be rescinded effective April 25, 2022, marking the end of the maximum telework posture the FAA has been in since March 2020.
Please continue discussions with your supervisor about your reentry plan – including, for those eligible for telework, the number of days per week you may be able to do so. If you have questions regarding FAA telework policies, please contact your servicing AHL Labor and Employee Relations Specialist in the Office of Human Resource Management.
The safety and well-being of the FAA workforce continues to be our top priority balanced with the needs of our mission. We are continuing to develop guidance that will further safeguard and protect our employees as we reenter the workplace. Please visit the Future of Work page on MyFAA, for frequently asked questions and other informational materials for employees and managers.
In Partnership,
Annie B. Andrews Assistant Administrator for Human Resource Management
