Good day, Colleagues,
I know that most of you have seen the latest CDC guidance for fully vaccinated individuals. In keeping with that guidance, as well as Safer Federal Workforce Task Force updates, fully vaccinated FAA employees, contractors, and visitors may choose not to wear a mask while inside FAA facilities.
Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated FAA employees, visitors, and contractors are required to continue to wear a mask while on Federal property and continue to practice physical distancing. Those who are not fully vaccinated and believe that they require an accommodation may seek one through the FAA’s reasonable accommodation process.
You are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after receiving your final vaccine dose. Even if fully vaccinated, you have the option to continue to wear a mask at work, if desired.
Some of you work in buildings with other tenants or visit worksites not operated by the FAA. Consistent with CDC guidance for these situations, you should follow the policies and practices set by the host site.
Regardless of where you work, we all have a responsibility to keep the workplace safe and healthy. Prior to entering any FAA facility, you are expected to review the Daily Wellness Checklist each day (NATCA covered employees should use the version specified in the MOU). If you answer “yes” to any of the four questions, do not enter the building under any circumstances. Contact your manager for further guidance.
Also, please be sure to take the Safer On Site - Reducing the Risk of COVID-19 training by the June 7 deadline. While we are working to update the training to be consistent with the latest guidance on masks, the basic course principles still apply.
We are not in a position to verify vaccination status. As such, it truly is up to each of us to do our part to protect ourselves, our families, and the integrity of our operations.
For answers to your questions, you may consult our FAA Roadmap to Recovery FAQs or email 9-FAA-COVID-19. Thank you for helping us continue to safeguard the health of our workforce and the safety of the NAS.
In partnership,
Annie B. Andrews
Assistant Administrator for Human Resource Management
